A Major Loki Character Holds the Key to Deadpool’s MCU Arrival

Full spoilers for Loki Season 1, Avengers 3 and Avengers 4 follow. Potential spoilers for Loki season 2 are also discussed.

Ever since Deadpool 3 was officially announced as a Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie, fans have theorized how the wisecracking superhero will make the jump to the money-making franchise.

Well wonder no more because this looks like a major character from The Loki TV Show will play a vital role in how Deadpool (and Wolverine) make their MCU debut.

According to several wonder leaks, including DanielRPK (opens in a new tab) and CanWeGetSomeToast (opens in a new tab)Owen Wilson’s Mobius Agent will play a significant role in Deadpool 3. In fact, the entire Temporal Variance Authority (TVA) will have a say in how The Merc With a Mouth’s first MCU outing plays out, though that no one knows the details of the plot. right now.

Still, it makes perfect sense that Agent Mobius and the TVA will play a major role – if the rumor is true – in the next super hero movie.

For starters, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has already explained that loki season 2 will directly connect all three phases of the MCU’s multiverse saga (for marvel.com (opens in a new tab)). This includes Deadpool 3, which will either be a bookend Stage 5 Wonder or start the Marvel Phase 6 slate.

Kang the Conqueror – the MCU’s next main villain – was also first introduced in loki episode 6, aka the final entry in the show’s first season. It’s no surprise, then, that Loki’s second season plays an important role in shaping the overall narrative of the multiverse saga.

But there’s a lot more to the connection between Deadpool 3 and Loki’s TV show than just Kang’s MCU arrival. The TVA (and Agent Mobius) was the division that oversaw the hallowed timeline of the MCU, removing any branching timelines that might have directly impacted it, and preventing any of the infinite number of universes from colliding with the MCU. These incidents are called Nexus Events and occur when an individual alters the Sacred Timeline through their actions. In Loki’s case, it stole the Tessaract in 2012 during the Avengers Time Heist, which took place in 2023 during Avengers: Endgame, changing his entire MCU arc, including his death in Avengers: Infinity War.

The death of He Who Remains, one of Kang’s multiversal variants, in Loki’s Season 1 finale on Disney+, resulted in the breaking down of barriers between the many timelines of the Marvel Multiverse. Thereafter, the Sacred Timeline no longer exists, and characters from across the Marvel Multiverse are free to traverse the MCU.

That’s where Deadpool 3 comes in. If Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s original incarnations of Deadpool and Wolverine leak out into the MCU – and smart money says they will – they’ll present a major problem for the game. VAT. Why? Because it’s about time-variants, meaning individuals who aren’t supposed to exist in the MCU, but have crossed over from Fox’s now-defunct X-Men universe. Be sure to read our guide on how to watch the x-men movies in order for more details on this outdated film franchise.

While Sylvie, one of Loki’s variants, is to blame for the Sacred Timeline’s collapse – remember, she killed He Who Remains in the Phase 4 MCUs TV Series – It’s Mobius who is likely to be the culprit for Deadpool (and Wolverine) entering the MCU.

Based on what we know of Loki Season 2, the God of Mischief and Mobius will attempt to stop time from completely collapsing as a result of Sylvie’s Season 1 actions. Unfortunately for Loki, it looks like he may not be completely useful in the battle to save the Sacred Timeline and stop Kang from conquering the multiverse. A first Loki season 2 trailer was released during Introducing Marvel D23 Expo 2022, who confirmed that the trickster god will be affected by a glitching disease. Fans of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will already know why this is happening to him.

Either way, if Loki is struggling to keep himself going (literally), it may fall to Mobius to save the multiverse. And you already know that he will want to do it, given that he is a big player at TVA.

However, if he fails to do so, his actions could inadvertently pave the way for Deadpool and Wolverine to enter the MCU. It would be a fantastic way to set up the story of Deadpool 3, with the pair causing havoc in the MCU as Mobius and TVA try to stop them. Hey, Deadpool has already toyed with his own timeline in Deadpool 2 – the movie’s mid-credits scene is proof of that – so he’s in shape to tinker with timeline events.

If we’re right in our guesses, Mobius will have a say in how the plot of Deadpool 3 unfolds. We don’t have insider info on either project, so don’t take anything of all this as gospel. But, if it ends up being okay, we’ll take any applause that comes our way.
