Kathryn Hahn Confirms ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos’ Will Begin Filming

This week Wanda Vision star Kathryn Hahn has revealed filming will soon be underway for the Disney+ original show Agatha: Chaos Coven.

In a interview with Brooke Geir McDonald at the 2022 Chicago International Film Festival, Hanh said the production “would start filming in about a month.” Agatha: Chaos Coven is a spin-off of Wanda Vision it will show what Agatha Harkness has been up to since her failure to defeat the Scarlet Witch. We last saw Agatha, a witch and dark magic user, trapped inside Westview with no memory of her confrontation with Wanda.

Hahn has expressed his excitement about playing the beloved villain. “Nothing I could have ever dreamed of was being asked to play a centuries-old witch that no one had ever heard of, and then all of a sudden being cut to a spin-off show. Which is like What! So it’s very, very exciting.

Agatha: Chaos Coven will be first in winter 2023. Executive producers Jac Schaeffer and Kevin Feige first announced the series in November 2021 under the title Agatha: House Harkness. Feige later confirmed the premiere of 2023 and the title change to Agatha: Chaos Coven at San Diego Comic Con 2022. It will be the eighth project in Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The only roles confirmed so far are Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness and Emma Caulfield Ford as Dottie from Wanda Vision. Agatha freed Dottie, Wanda’s neighbor and head of Westview’s planning committee, from the fate of the town of Scarlet Witch. This restored Dottie’s true identity as Sarah Proctor. The alias Ford’s character will assume is unknown. It is said that other heroes could appear in the series, although no details on the characters have been confirmed.

Who else could join Agatha and her journey into deeper chaos? We look forward to reuniting with the Dark Witch and her magical plans soon.
