Marvel’s Midnight Suns Producer Talks Exclusive Dualsense Features
Marvel’s Midnight Suns is going to be more immersive on PlayStation 5 thanks to its Dualsense controller. While talking to Read the magazine (October Edition), Game Producer, Garth DeAngelis has shared information regarding Dualsense-specific features for Marvel’s Midnight Suns for the PS5.
I can’t say where that stands at the moment, but there’s unique haptic support and audio design with the controller, and the way you engage with photo mode with the touch-hpad, things are going to be unique for PS5 Double meaning.
So, the unique features of the PS5 won’t just be limited to haptics, as we’ll get some sort of photo mode adaptation and sound design based on the PS5 controller. Since the release of Dualsense, the developers have done some unique things with Dualsense’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers and it’s good to know that Marvel’s Midnight Suns will also utilize the potential of the PS5 controller. Hopefully Firaxis Games will talk more about these unique features before release.
In the same interview, DeAngelis also assured that Marvel’s Midnight Suns will not feature paid microtransactions. The in-game market is for future DLC purchases only. They are currently working on 4 new characters with their story missions which will be available as DLC after launch. Then there are cosmetic skins and nothing else.
As you may already know, Marvel’s Midnight Suns was supposed to be released on October 7, but it’s now been delayed with no specific official release date. Take-Two Interactive, during its financial results report, announced that the game should be released before the end of fiscal year 2023.
So we can still expect the game to release before March 2023. However, since there is no release date, we shouldn’t expect the game to release in 2022. 2K Games or Firaxis Games haven’t shared any updates on the new release date for Marvel’s Midnight Suns either. Recently, famous insider Tom Henderson claimed that Firaxis revamped the random map system for Marvel’s Midnight Suns, which could also be a reason that also contributed to the game’s delay.
