Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 ‘making good progress’, still slated for 2023
Following the successful release of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC, Insomniac Games (with Nixxes) will launch Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales for the platform on November 18. Longer term though, there are some pretty heavy hitters to come, like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine.
There may be some concern that the first one might be delayed (at least on Twitter). However, the official developer account told fans not to worry. “We’re making good progress, and it’s still planned for 2023. Showing games takes time, effort, resources and coordination.”
It could appear at Sony’s next major PlayStation showcase, although a date has yet to be announced. Maybe a quick trailer at The Game Awards on December 8? Last month, insider Millie Amand teased a “soon” gameplay reveal, but there’s nothing yet.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released exclusively on PS5. Along with Peter Parker and Miles Morales, it also features Venom, but it’s unknown if it’s an antagonist or a playable character. Venom actor Tony Todd claims the game is “massive”, but Insomniac hasn’t said much about scale or tone (other than that it’s “darker” than its predecessors) . Stay tuned in the coming months for more details.
Don’t. We’re making good progress and it’s still planned for 2023. Showing games takes time, effort, resources and coordination.
