RUMOR: Ryan Gosling courted for Marvel Studios role

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to turn 15. Across 30 different movies and shows, hundreds of Hollywood stars have taken turns telling amazing, action-packed stories. While it’s almost easier to name actors who haven’t been sucked into the world’s biggest franchise, from week to week, this list always seems to change.

The last actor potentially joining the MCU? Ryan Gosling. This, according to an industry insider Daniel RPK. He dropped the little news treat on his Patreon account over the weekend.

Now, obviously because this information has not been confirmed by any major trade or Disney, as always, we urge you to take this news with a grain of salt. But even if that’s true, that doesn’t necessarily mean Gosling is on board.

The exact verbiage used in Daniel’s message is that “Gosling is in talks for a role”. Let’s not forget that at one point, Ava DuVernay was also in talks to direct Black Panther. Sometimes these things happen. Sometimes they don’t. Gosling also happens to be one of the most in-demand stars in Hollywood, so even if a deal is struck, scheduling conflicts might not allow for his involvement after all.

Regardless of whether the news is true or not, or whether it all works out in the end, the idea of Gosling joining the MCU is exciting. Could he play a hero or a villain? Or could it just be a recurring cameo (we’re looking at you Matt Damon). The possibilities are limitless.

Funny enough, Gosling’s last film The gray man is led by MCU veterans The Russo Bros. and stars the franchise’s first Captain America, Chris Evans. Could they have put in a good word for the actor? We’ll just have to wait and see.

If Gosling joins the MCU, who would you want to see him play? Ring below!
