The Marvels Movie: Monica Rambeau Reportedly Got Her Ms. Marvel Superhero Name

MCU Phase 5 title, Wonders will be a one-of-a-kind cosmic adventure sequel, partly to introduce an all-female-led feature, but also to connect Captain Marvel 2 with Wanda Visionby Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Ms. Marvel’s Kamala Khan. Speaking of who, it looks like the highly anticipated second installment will finally give Rambeau a superhero name, and an insider claims to know the details.

The Director’s Marvels Movie Nia Da Costa recently screened its first images at D23 Expo. The participant description confirmed that Ms. Marvel, Monica Rambeau, and Carol Danvers swap places when using their powers because their abilities are linked. It’s Captain Rambeau who explains Kamala Khan, but similarly, when Ms. Marvel asks him about his energy transmission and energy absorption abilities, the young superhero gives him a deserving superhero alias. .

According to insider CanWeGetSomeToast, a social media account known for posting believable Marvel scoops, Monica Rambeau’s hero name will be “Photon.” Moreover, the pseudonym is given to him by Kamala Khan. Readers can check it out in the tweet below.

It should also be noted that in 2019 Captain Marvelby Maria RambeauLashana Lynch) the call sign was “PHOTON”. Perhaps in Les Merveilles, Rambeau would see it as a sign of coincidence and embrace the name wholeheartedly. Although there is no confirmation yet, fans are advised to take it with a grain of salt.

While Captain Rambeau’s powers were introduced in WandaVision, the series barely scratched the surface exploring more of its arc and similarly, the Ms. Marvel series only touched on Kamala’s Embiggen powers at the end. Additionally, since the trailers have indicated that the three super-powered beings are interconnected through their abilities, perhaps The Marvels could also expand on Bruno’s claim that Kamala is a mutant. If so, could it be the same for Monica?

Moreover, according to SlashFilm, the three Marvels will also face a hammer-wielding villainess who appears to be a Kree. It’s interesting since the alien race is responsible for creating the Kree in the comics, it’s possible Kevin Feige will reinvent the notion of inhuman and mutant for the MCU.

There are plenty of plot points to address in the upcoming second episode and hopefully all will be answered when The Marvels hits theaters on July 28, 2023.
